BROOKHAVEN — Services for Laurie Rushing Sisco, 83, a longtime resident of Bogue Chitto, who died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gum Grove Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Brookhaven Funeral Home.
Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at Brookhaven Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday.
Mrs. Sisco was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Luther Rushing and Lula Smith Rushing.
Mrs. Rushing was a homemaker, a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church in Brookhaven and a resident at Camellia Estates in McComb for eight years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Marvie Sisco; and one brother.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Sisco, and wife, Janie, of Bogue Chitto; daughter, Sylvia Strahan, and husband, Bo, of Lake St. John; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca Hodge and husband, Bob, Kathy Smith and husband, Eric, Kevin Laird, Ryan Strahan, and wife, Liz, Josh Strahan, and wife, Christy, Bowen Strahan, and wife, Jenny, Benji Sisco, and wife, Donna Jo, Jamie Sisco, and wife, Rebecca, Joe Dan Leggett, and wife, Stacy, and Jana Moak and husband, Shane; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lena Smith, Betty Hughes, Frances Mullins, Patsy Nations and Dianne Little; three brothers, Versie Rushing, Donald Ray Rushing and Decatur Rushing; one aunt, Mildred Brown; two sisters-in-law, Mary Gill and Eula Nunnery, and two brothers-in-law, Walter Sisco and Earl Sisco.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of choice.
