Eric Holmes charged with possession and sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury. Wayne McMorris charged with sale of a controlled substance. Case bound over to a grand jury.

Thursday, Jan. 31:
Gerald Kendrell Davis pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling (count III) in Judge Lillie Blackmon Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 25 years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections to run consecutively with sentence in unrelated case. Count I (burglary of a dwelling) and count II (burglary of a dwelling) are both retired to files. Davis also pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Sanders’ court. Sentenced to 20 years in the MDOC to run consecutively with burglary sentence.
Wednesday, Jan. 30:
James Luster was found guilty by a jury in Sanders’ court to murder. Sentenced to life in the MDOC.

Friday, Jan. 25:
Georgia Irene Chatman, 25, charged with simple assault. Case remanded at request of complainant. Chatman also charged with vile, profane language by telephone. Case remanded at request of complainant. Chatman pleaded guilty to amended charge of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 60 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Fine set at $644. Nichelle La Marion Letcher, 22, found guilty of shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days with 29 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. To serve 24 hours in jail. Fine set at $644. Lucille Ann Perry, 20, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $544. Dannie Brinkley, 51, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — second offense. Sentenced to 60 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. Fine set at $544. Shonkeith Holmes, 36, pleaded guilty to false ID. Sentenced to 30 days with 26 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for four days served. Fine set at $394 with $200 suspended. Must pay a fine of $194. Jacqueline Le Myles charged with simple assault — domestic violence. Case remanded to file at request of victim and recommendation of court.
Monday, Jan. 28:
Joseph H. Brewer, 46, pleaded guilty to DUI first offense test results. Sentenced to 48 hours suspended. Fine set at $730. Daveyon Marquise McCoy, 24, pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace by fighting. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $344. Kendrick L. Tolbert, 28, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $494. Antonio C. Carter, 36, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days with three days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Credit given for seven days served. No fine assessed. Okoye Leric Ratliff, 21, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — first offense. Sentenced to 30 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Banned from store. Fine set at $544.

Vincent C. Briggs, 50, charged with willful trespassing. Case dismissed — subpoena issued on Jan. 8, 2013 not served. Marquette Deon Thomas, 24, pleaded guilty to shoplifting — second offense. Sentenced to 60 days with 52 days suspended for two years pending good behavior. To serve eight days in jail. Fine set at $644 Kwseix Vinson, 40, pleaded guilty to public drunkenness. Sentenced to 10 days suspended for one year pending good behavior. Fine set at $294.
