WATERPROOF — Services for Janie Ross, 99, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Heritage Manor Health and Rehab in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Cypress Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Gerald Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Evans Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Ross was born Oct. 28, 1913, in Waterproof, the daughter of Hence Howard and Lizzie Evans. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Melchia Ross; and two daughters, Ethel Ross and Janie Ross.

Survivors include one son, Elijah Ross of Belle Chase, La.; six grandchildren, Milton Flowers Jr. and wife, Tanisha, Ray Ross Jr. and wife, Tanya, all of Elk Grove, Calif., Terrance Flowers of Oakland, Calif., Velvet Baker of Stockton, Calif., Senece Threats of Delaware and Turnel Ross of Vallejo, Calif.; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepdaughter, Sarah Shorts of Los Angeles; and one son-in-law, Don Baker of Stockton.
