NATCHEZ — Services for Dorothy Marie Buckels Seab, 89, of Natchez, who died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David McGuffee officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Seab was born April 11, 1923, in Knoxville, the daughter of John Morgan Buckels and Estell Golman Buckels. She was an active member of Fayette Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school. She later moved to Natchez and became a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she did a lot of the food preparation for gatherings at the church.
Mrs. Seab later became a member of Highland Baptist Church. She drove the school bus for a few years for Thomas Jefferson Academy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James C. Seab; one son, James Howell Seab; and four brothers, Woodrow Buckels, William Albert Buckels, Wilmer Buckels and John Buckels Jr.
Survivors include two daughters, Jimmie Seab Coney and husband, Dr. W.C. Coney of Jonesville and Deborah Seab White of Natchez; two sisters-in-law, Martha Buckels of Fayette and Francis Buckels of Baton Rouge; a very dear friend, David Collins; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one daughter-in-law, Brenda.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Horton, Colby Horton, Michael Hawkins, Richard White, David Collins, Kevin Buckels, Michael Buckels and Jesse Horton.
