NATCHEZ — Weather conditions are predicted to be severe beginning tonight and leading into early Wednesday.
Thunderstorms with damaging winds and a chance of tornadoes should begin in the Adams County area after 8 p.m.
The worst of the weather is predicted to be from Adams County east into Alabama and north throughout the central part of Mississippi.
The storm is expected to usher in a cold front, according to the National Weather Service.
Lows after the storm are expected to be in the 30s, with highs in the low 60s.
“This storm will move through the state while most folks are asleep, which increases the potential for injuries,” said Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Director Robert Latham. “It is very important that everyone pays close attention to weather alerts during the next 24 to 48 hours.
“Please make sure that you have a way to receive severe weather warnings.”
