NATCHEZ — Graveside services for James Roger Chandler, 77, of Vidalia, who died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 3 p.m. today at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Bill McCullin officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Chandler was born July 26, 1935, in Grant Parish, La., the son of J.G. Chandler and Myrtis Antee Chandler.
Mr. Chandler was owner and operator of Chandler Welding and a member of Vidalia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, James Thomas Chandler.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Billie Chandler; two daughters, Sue Wilson of Vidalia and Lisa Chandler Brown and husband, David, of Columbia, Tenn.; one son, Reginald Glenn Chandler of Natchez; one sister, Brenda Ellen Smith of Pineville, La.; four granddaughters, Allison Brown Williams and husband, Spencer, Jordan Chandler Higgins and husband, Jim, Sara Chandler Wells and husband, Shane, and Jessie Chandler Blackard of husband, Will; four grandsons, Josh Wilson and wife, Amanda, Corey Brown and wife, Deborah, Jeff Chandler and Brian Chandler; one great-granddaughter, Addison Faulkner; three great-grandsons, Eli Wilson, Grant Blackard and Brett Wells; and one aunt, Norid Blackwell of Natchez.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Vidalia First Baptist Church Building Fund.
