WOODVILLE — Services for Willie Carrol Menser, 68, of Angola, La., who died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lake, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Newman Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, with the Rev. Warren Whitaker officiating.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral Home .
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Menser was born Nov. 3, 1944, the son of Jewell Menser and Mary Summers. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970.
Mr. Menser retired from the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola where he worked for more than 20 years. He was an avid hunter.
Mr. Menser was Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Waldon Summers.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Jenkins Menser; his mother of Woodville; two sons, David Menser and wife, Rachel, of Woodville and James Menser and wife, Melissa, of Angola; and two grandchildren, Allison Menser of Angola and Travis Menser of Woodville.
Pallbearers will be John Griffey, Will Meredith, Adam Oliveaux, Ben Oliveaux, Jason Sharp and Wesley Vannoy.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Collins, Danny Wilkinson and Wayne Ford.
