NATCHEZ — Services for Hilda Ransom Lomax Little, 78, of Natchez, who died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stanton officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mark Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery in Kingston under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the church.

Mrs. Little was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Natchez, the daughter of Herman and Annie Bell Ransom. She completed her early education at Overton School and Brumfield High School. She received her bachelor of science degree from Jackson State University and her master of science degree from Alcorn State University.

Hilda was an educator, wife, mother and servant of the Lord. She was an active member of St. Mark Baptist Church No. 2, where she was a member of the choir, a Sunday school teacher and Bible scholar.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Pauline Ransom; one brother, Herman Ransom Jr.; her husbands, Clarence Lomax Sr. and Andrew Little; one sister-in-law, Alberta B. Ransom; and one brother-in-law, Clyde Nero.

Survivors include one son, Clarence Lomax Jr.; daughter-in-law, Valeria Lomax; two grandsons, Clarence Lomax III and DeShae Lomax; two siblings, Francis Ransom Sr. of Natchez and Rose Nero of Jackson; one sister-in-law, Linda Ransom of Kansas City, Mo.; eight nieces and nephews, Francis Ransom Jr., Herman S. Ransom and wife, Reba, Dexter K. Ransom and wife, Carol, Rhonda J. Williams and husband, Rodney, Vanita Massey, Esq. and husband, Kim, Herman Lee Ransom III, Regina Nero Price and husband, Lanier, and Dina Nero Givens.
