VIDALIA — Services for Fannie Boyd, 80, of Vidalia, who died Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena, La., will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Starlight Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Leroy Brown officiating.
Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Boyd was born Feb. 13, 1932, in Waterproof, the daughter of Elijah and Mary Montgomery Smith.
She was a devoted homemaker and a member of Starlight Baptist Church until her health failed. She loved cooking for her family and friends.
Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Boyd; three brothers, Edward Scott Sr., Elijah Smith Sr. and Johnny Wilson; two sisters, Elnora Scott and Theresa Wilson Hollins; two nephews, Roger Hollins Jr. and Elijah Smith Jr.; two nieces, Brenda Wilson and Denice Scott Randoff; two sisters-in-law, Mary Scott and Hazel Smith; and two brothers-in-law, Roger Hollins Sr. and Jeff Boyd.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Boyd Lewis of Vidalia and her husband, Adrian Lewis of Natchez; one brother, Willie Wilson and wife, Thelma, of New Orleans; one sister-in-law, Elizabeth B. Davis of Chicago; 22 nephews; 22 nieces; a number of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends; and very special friends, Sam Coley and Sanders Coley and wife, Sandra.
Pallbearers will be Keon Moore, David Hueing, Sanders Coley, David Vaughn, Roger Vaughn and Johnnie Lee Marsaw.
