VIDALIA — Services for Allen Keith Farmer Sr., 55, of Natchez, who went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Adams County Nursing Center, will be at 2 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home in Vidalia with Glen R. Foster and Jim Sanders officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mr. Farmer was born March 29, 1957, in Natchez, the son of Herbert Herman Farmer and Frances Loventrice Blankenship Farmer.

Mr. Farmer accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior June 6, 1965, and was baptized June 27, 1965, at First Baptist Church of Natchez. He was a lifelong Louisiana State University Tiger fan and he was an avid reader.

Mr. Farmer loved people and never met a stranger. His kindness and compassion to all people and his polite manner was noted by everyone who knew him. He always put others before himself.

Mr. Farmer was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Herbert Farmer Sr., Henry Farmer Sr. and Roy Farmer Sr.

Survivors include two children, Meagan Ashley Farmer Walker of Collins and Allen Keith Farmer Jr. of Colorado; three grandchildren; one brother, Ray Farmer Sr. and wife, Jewel, of Roxie; three sisters, Frances Davis and husband, Billy, and Carole Foster and husband, Glen, all of Natchez, and Lance Holmes of Deltona, Fla.; and a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Farmer, Gary Farmer, Henry Farmer, Tommy Davis, William Davis and Ronald Havard.

The family, with grateful hearts, wishes to thank the wonderful nurses and the entire staff of Adams County Nursing Center and the amazing nurses of Hospice Compassus for their diligent care and compassion to Allen as well as each family member during his illness. You are truly angels of mercy.
