NATCHEZ — Services for Luberta Richards, 90, of Natchez, who died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at noon Saturday at Zion Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Birdon Mitchell Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Richards was born June 29, 1922, in Natchez, the daughter of Serena Spain. She was Methodist and a mother of the church.
Mrs. Richards was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked at the Charity Hospital in Natchez.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Jimmie Richards; and one son, James Richards.
Survivors include one son, Albert Richards of Natchez; one granddaughter, Ayanna Mazique and husband, Keith; one grandson, Walter Mackel; three great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters, Madeline K. Mazique and Maddison K. Mazique; a special cousin, Mary Jane Ford; a special friend, Lillie Ford; one goddaughter, Betty Washington; and other relatives and friends.
