FERRIDAY — Services for Dorothy Poole, 82, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandra, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harvest Baptist Church in Ferriday with the Rev. Tracy Cusic officiating.

Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Poole was born Feb. 28, 1930, in Fort Adams, the daughter of Jackson and Bertha Duncan Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Old St. Reed Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Peter Poole.

Survivors include four sons, James Poole and wife, Audrey, of Clayton, Ventras Poole and wife, Felicia, of Ferriday, Peter Poole Jr. of San Bernardino, Calif., and Willie Poole and wife, Qwana, of Beaumont, Texas; five daughters, Pamela Poole, Doris Poole, both of Ferriday, Dorothy Weatherspoon and husband, Vernon, of San Bernardino, Ester Jolla of Long Beach, Calif., and Beverly Harris and husband, Eddie, of Baton Rouge; one brother, Edward Green of Baton Rouge; one sister, Annie Edwards of Morgan City; 32 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
