NATCHEZ — Services for Joyce Wheat Roberts, 76, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bo Swilley officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Roberts was born Sept. 10, 1936, in Aliceville, Ala., the daughter of Sylvester Thelbert Wheat and Vada Belle Tyner. She was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a master’s degree in education.

Mrs. Roberts was retired from Trinity Day School. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by many.

Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Nancy Wheat; one brother, Wayne Wheat; one half-brother, Dewitt Landrith; and one grandchild, Daniel Roberts.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Roberts; one brother, Curt Wheat and wife, Diane, of Natchez; two sons, Tommy Roberts and wife, Janice, of Natchez and David Roberts and wife, Lavada, of Vidalia; three daughters, Lisa White and husband, Darrell, of Vidalia, Donna Young and husband, Jerry, of Natchez and Lynn Roberts of Zachary, La.; 13 grandchildren, Bengie Buckles, April Swilley, Christina Roberts, Heather Conner, Alexis White, Heath White, Bryan Roberts, Josh Roberts, Amanda Renfrow, Jessica Young, Jeremy Young, Angela LaPrairie and B.J. LaPrairie; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a very special friend and family member, Pam Roberts; and other special friends, Patti White, Eileen Ball and Patricia Pressgrove.

Pallbearers will be Warren Wheat, Dale Wheat, Shawn Wheat, Kevin Wheat, Bengie Buckles and Bryan Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers will be Heath White, Brandon Renfrow, Mike Wilson and Josh Roberts.
