NATCHEZ — Services for Eugene William Washington, 62, of Vidalia, who died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greater St. James Baptist Church with the Rev. Dandridge Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at Elgin Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, with Masonic Rite ceremony at 6 p.m., and from noon until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mr. Washington was born Nov. 8, 1950, in Natchez, the son of David Lee and Mary Ella Washington. He was a graduate of Sadie V. Thompson High School and was retired from International Paper Company.
Mr. Washington was a member of Greater St. James Baptist Church and a member of L.R. Paige Masonic Lodge No. 20.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joseph V. Washington Sr.
Survivors include two daughters, Iris Washington Myles and husband, Keith, of Vidalia and Shanette L. Washington of Monroe, La.; his former wife, Theresa Demby Washington of Vidalia; one grandson, Keith L. Myles Jr. of Vidalia; three brothers, Elijah Washington and wife, Evelyn, of Columbus, Ohio, James A. Washington and wife, Elnora, and Wesley Washington and wife, Gwendolyn, all of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers.
