NEWELLTON, La. — Services for Patricia Johnson Kelly, 77, of Newellton, La., who died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at River Regional Medical Center in Vicksburg, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Newellton Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Redden Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday with Delta Sigma Theta ceremonies at noon, all at the church.

Mrs. Kelly was born March 17, 1935, in New Orleans, the daughter of Lawrence and Selezie Jackson Johnson. She was a retired teacher for Tensas Parish School System and a member of Newellton Chapel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Kelly was also a member of the Tensas Parish Retired Teachers Association, Tensas Parish Library Board, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Southern University Alumni Federation and H.A. Dillion Southern University Alumni Chapter.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lawrence Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, James Kelly Sr.; two sons, James Kelly Jr. and wife, LaKeiche, of Lake Charles, La., and Dwayne Kelly and wife, Tasha, of Canton, Mich.; one daughter, Nannette Kelly of Memphis, Tenn.; four sisters, Joy Washington and husband, Clarence, of Roosevelt, N.Y., Beryl Wingate of New Orleans, Naomi Rumbolt and husband, Derrick, of Evanston, Ill., and Mona Gilliano of Chicago; and five grandchildren.
