FAYETTE — Brandy Buck played what Jefferson County girls head coach Flora McKnight called her best game of the season as the Lady Tigers topped Hinds AHS 59-43 Wednesday night.
Buck scored 30 points in the Tigers’ Jefferson County Tournament matchup against Hinds, and McKnight said even she was surprised Buck had so many points.
“She’s been playing well ever since the season started,” McKnight said. “She’s been scoring 19, 20 points per game. She made her layups, free throws and sank some buckets. She works hard on both ends of the floor, so I’m happy for her.”
Keionne January added 10 points for the Lady Tigers, who led 29-14 at the half.
Jefferson County (9-5) will take on Columbia at 6 tonight on day two of the Jefferson County tournament.
