FERRIDAY — Services for Anna Marie Krueger Clayton, 82, who died Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after an extended illness, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Patrick Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Sklar officiating.

Burial will follow in the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home Ferriday.

Visitation is at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a wake service at 7 p.m.

Mrs. Clayton was born March 23, 1930, the daughter of Carl F. and Helen C. Kromburg Krueger.

Mrs. Clayton’s parents came from Germany in 1927. They resided in St. Joseph, and moved to Vidalia when she was 7-years-old. Mrs. Clayton graduated from Vidalia High School.

On Nov. 16, 1947, she married the love of her life, Robert Waddell Clayton Jr. and moved to Tanglewood Plantation, where she spent her life being a loving wife tending to children and her home. She was a wonderful friend to many. She was a seamstress and an excellent baker, as many knew of her treats she baked for church for different occasions and was active at Saint Patrick Catholic Church serving in the ladies Alter Society. She was an avid gardener and served as member of the Ferriday Garden Club. She also was an artist and a member of Natchez Art Association and Panola Women’s Auxiliary.

Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Survivors include sons Robert W. Clayton III and wife, Karen, of Ferriday and Charles E. Clayton and wife, Pam, of Vidalia; daughters Diane Martin and husband, J.D., of Clayton and Mary Elliott and husband, Glen, of Lake St. John; brother Rudy Krueger and wife, Carolyn, of Natchez; brother in-law Fr. Murray Clayton of Shreveport; grandchildren Jason Martin and wife, Karla, Rob Clayton, Emily Weeks and husband, Joby, Gregory Clayton and wife, Jessica, Erin Watts and husband, Ron, Kenneth Clayton, Patrick Clayton, Chase Clayton, Jared Harner and Lauren Myers and husband, Ken, and Katherine Clayton; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jason Martin, Rob Clayton, Kenneth Clayton, Gregory Clayton, Patrick Clayton, Chase Clayton and Jared Harner.
