Garden club to go paranormal this week

Happy fall to everyone! With the bewitching season quickly approaching, the Natchez Garden Club is getting in the holiday spirit with a little trick and treat of our own. This month’s membership meeting of the Natchez Garden Club will be at our lovely home, Magnolia Hall, at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Over the years, it has been said that this beautiful home may be inhabited by the ghosts of the former residents, the Henderson family. Some of you many know the history for Magnolia Hall and this particular family, but for those of you who do not, Mr. Thomas Henderson passed away in the downstairs bedroom of this home. Since his death, it is said that his ghost has reappeared to some.
So, is it true or not? To help us answer these questions, Mike Chapman, lead investigator for the Natchez Paranormal Society will join us at our October meeting to put some perspective to this. He will share what his team found during an investigation of Magnolia Hall this past fall. Also, he will explain some of the other studies his team has conducted in other areas around Natchez and even Mississippi. You won’t want to miss out on learning what they found out!
Also, during this meeting, we ask that everyone please bring items for our many community projects that we are supporting this year. For the Stewpot, we are collecting cans of delicious fruits this month for the upcoming holiday season.
In addition, we will be collecting personal hygiene products for the women’s and children’s shelter. Both of these charities are wonderful ways to get into the giving spirit!
Finally, we will have yet another fun activity taking place during this meeting! We will have a plant and seed exchange among our members! We simply ask everyone to bring along a plant or some seeds you have enjoyed to share with other members.
Be sure to join us at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Magnolia Hall for our monthly membership meeting and lunch. This month’s lunch will be another fabulous potluck lunch with a main course of a delicious pork loin.
We ask that all members who attend this meeting be sure to bring their favorite side dish or even a scrumptious desert to go along with it. If for some reason you are unable to bring a side dish or sweet, you can simply make a $10 donation to the club and enjoy all of the treats we will have to offer for lunch.
We hope to see everyone at this particularly paranormal meeting!
