Farmer named director of surgical services at CMMC

JACKSON — Registered nurse Marla Martin Farmer, of Natchez, has joined Central Mississippi Medical Center as director of surgical services.
Her director responsibilities at CMMC will include surgery, post-anesthesia care unit, same-day surgery and endoscopy.
Farmer brings with her more than 25 years of health care experience as a registered nurse, most extensively with 17 years of operating room experience and with eight years of surgical management experience.
Her experience in management includes strategic planning and development of policies and procedures with implementation and compliance.
Prior to joining CMMC she was employed with the Natchez-Adams School District as nurse coordinator.
Farmer earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Alcorn State University and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
“Marla is a great addition to the CMMC team,” said Lorie Ramsey, RN, MSN, chief nursing officer said. “The experience she brings our hospital makes her a tremendous asset as she leads these vital departments.”
