vidalia — The Highland Wildlife Expo is coming back to the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center Sept. 20.
Doors will open for the sixth-annual Wildlife Expo at 6 p.m. and this year’s special guest will be Hank Hough from Kingdom Dog Ministries. Hough will show off the skills of his trained hunting dogs during an exhibition.
Highland Baptist Church team leader Bruce McCall said Hough would be the headliner for a variety of activities.
“There will be a lot of great food, a lot of great prizes and special events just for kids,” McCall said.
The event will be free.
Mike Mayfield from Realtree will also be a guest at this year’s event.
A new addition to this year’s expo is a couple of wildlife seminars.
At 6 p.m. there will be a class on how to make the most out of small food plots, and at 6:30 p.m. there will be a demonstration on the most effective uses of scent cover.
McCall said the event will feature a separate children’s section again this year. McCall said the children’s section would have live animals and special activities and prizes.
Game wardens will be there to answer questions about changes to hunting regulations for the upcoming season, and there will be at least 30 booths at this year’s event, McCall said.
Prizes include a Polaris ATV from Dawkins Polaris, a guided hunting trip and a Beretta Special Edition Shotgun.
