NATCHEZ – National Park Service officials have closed the Natchez Trace from the southern terminus at Liberty Road in Natchez to milepost 8.5 at U.S. 61 near Washington due to Isaac.

NPS officials recommend avoiding all travel along any portion of the Trace during the passage of Hurricane Isaac due to the high possibilities of falling trees and other obstructions that can make travel dangerous.
