Hewitt’s Archery to host bow class

Ferriday — Hewitt’s Archery and Pro Shop will host the International Bowhunter Education Program Aug. 25 at the shop.
The one-day class will allow students to receive their International Bowhunter Education Certification card.
The course will focus on safety, ethics, equipment and methods.
“We are trying to get more young people and ladies,” course instructor Homer Hewitt said. “We want to get people started out on the right foot.”
Pre-registration is required for the free course. Students should bring a bow and arrows with field points. Children 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
The class is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
