JONESVILLE — Two Jonesville teens died and a third is being treated for serious injuries following a single-car accident in Catahoula Parish Saturday night.
Logan D. Mills, 18, of Jonesville, and Brittany White, 14, of Jonesville, were pronounced dead.
A third minor, who Louisiana State Police did not name, was transported to Rapides Regional Medical Center.
Alcohol is a suspected factor in the crash, a Louisiana State Police spokesman said, and routine toxicology results are pending.
The spokesman said the crash occurred on Louisiana 923, north of Louisiana 126. Troopers responded at 11:30 p.m.
Mills was reportedly driving a 2000 Ford pickup northbound when he lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. The vehicle then hit a culvert and a tree before catching fire.
It is unknown if Mills or the unnamed survivor were wearing their seat belts. White was reportedly not wearing her seat belt, the spokesman said.
The crash remains under investigation.
