NATCHEZ — If you have a family member who has lost their redneck way and traded in their backwoods charm for the big city, CMT wants to help.
The country music network is casting in Mississippi for its new show “Redneck Intervention.”
But the name of the show may be misleading, casting producer Benjamin McCormick of The Casting Firm said.
“The name makes it sound like we are staging an intervention for ‘rednecks,’ but in fact, it’s just the opposite,” McCormick said.
The show will reunite families with “city slicker runaways,” McCormick said. Producers are looking for “outgoing, proud, all-American redneck” families to reconnect with their distant family member for a surprise “redneck family reunion.”
The show comes from the producers of “My Big Redneck Wedding” and “My Big Redneck Vacation” and will be hosted by Tom Arnold.
Interested families can apply online at thecastingfirm.com/redneck-intervention or e-mail cast-ings@thecastingfirm.com.
Applicants are asked to write “redneck” in the subject line of the e-mail and include a name, phone number, family photos and why they think would be good for the show.
McCormick said the show is not currently in Mississippi casting, but interviews are be conducted via Skype video calls.
