Mr. and Mrs. Richard Calvin Alwood of Ferriday announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary-Margaret Alwood to Stephen Thomas Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Earl Edwards of Natchez.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She is employed by Camellia Hospice in Natchez and Vidalia.

She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Natale Salvo of Natchez and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Richard Alwood of Ferriday.

The groom-to-be is also a graduate of Cathedral High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University in Starkville. He is employed by Concordia Bank and Trust in Natchez.

He is the grandson of Mr. Gayle Earl Edwards and the late Mrs. Ellen Blanchard Edwards of Natchez and Mrs. Jeannette Hendrix Perry and the late Mr. William Sidney Perry Jr. of Yazoo City.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Natchez.

A reception will follow at the Vidalia Conference and Convention Center.
