NATCHEZ — Natchez police have identified a suspect in a Tuesday assault at Fleming Body Shop that left one man in intensive care at a Jackson hospital.
Natchez Lt. Craig Godbold would not release the name of the suspect and said the department is waiting to interview the victim when he recovers.
Godbold said it appears the suspect punched the victim during a dispute over money, and the victim fell and hit his head on the sidewalk.
The police report states that an officer found the victim unresponsive and bleeding from the head outside of the body shop on St. Catherine Street.
Godbold said Friday the victim is being treated in the intensive care unit at University Medical Center and is responsive to commands.
