VIDALIA — As part of the statewide voter education week, the Concordia Parish Registrar of Voters Office is conducting voter registration drives Thursday and Friday.
Registrar of Voters Golda Ensminger said the drives are part of an annual effort the office hosts to give residents every possible chance to register to vote.
“This is something we do to encourage people to register to vote and also if they have any changes that need to be made,” Ensminger said. “Most of the times it’s either the voter’s address or party affiliation that needs to be changed.”
The drives will be from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Vidalia Market and from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the Ferriday Market.
During those drives, residents need to show a picture ID to either register to vote or change any information, Ensminger said.
Informational pamphlets and voter registration forms will also be passed out throughout the parish at the different Concordia Parish Libraries and other locations.
Residents can also stop by the Registrar of Voters’ office at the Concordia Parish Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. any day this week, Ensminger said.
