FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center Sunday evening after being shot once in the chest near Doty Road.
Kenya Cauley remained in critical condition Sunday night after allegedly being shot by another Ferriday man, said Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Capt. David Hedrick.
George Spurs was arrested Sunday night on a charge of second-degree attempted murder, Hedrick said.
Hedrick said sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call at 5:47 p.m. Sunday saying someone had been shot on Doty Road.
After Spurs was identified on the crime scence as being the alleged shooter, Hedrick said Spurs alleged the two were playing a game invovling guns.
“Allegedly, they were playing a game where they point guns at each other,” Hedrick said. “(Spurs) said he intended to shoot over (Cauley’s) head, but ended up shooting him in the chest.”
Hedrick said the investigation is ongoing, and he will interrogate Cauley when he recovers.
