FERRIDAY — A Ferriday man was airlifted to Rapides Regional Medical Center Sunday evening after being shot once in the chest near Doty Road.
Kenya Cauley remained in critical condition Sunday night after allegedly being shot by another Ferriday man, said Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office Capt. David Hedrick.
Hedrick said sheriff deputies responded to a 911 call at 5:47 p.m. Sunday saying someone had been shot on Doty Road.
“We’ve worked the crime scene, and we’re in the process of doing interrogations and interviews,” Hedrick said.
As deputies responded to the call, Hedrick said another Ferriday man, George Spurs, was identified on the crime scene as being the alleged shooter.
“We have not charged (Spurs) because we don’t know whether the shooting was on purpose or accident,” Hedrick said. “The investigation is ongoing.”
