VIDALIA — A truck driver was left stranded near Ferriday Friday morning after being forced into a vehicle driven by an armed man at the Mobil Station in Vidalia.

Assistant Chief Bruce Wiley said the victim was pumping gas into his 18-wheeler when the alleged gunman forced him into his vehicle hoping for some quick cash.

“When the victim told the driver he didn’t have any money, he allegedly pulled over and dropped him off,” Wiley said. “He called 911 and the (Concordia Parish) sheriff’s department picked him up and brought him back to the Mobil station.”

Wiley said the incident is currently under investigation, and he hopes video surveillance tapes from the gas station will help find the driver.
