UMB Bank announces board chair, members

NATCHEZ — James M. Biglane, CEO of UMB Bank recently announced the chairman of and additions to UMB board and a promotion at United Mississippi Bank.
H. I. “Cappy” Stahlman has been named chairman of the board. Stahlman has served on the board for the past 39 years. He was the president of Stahlman Lumber Company (now Stine’s).
A Natchez native, Stahlman is a graduate of the Natchez public schools, the University of Mississippi and the Wharton School of Finance. He is a past president of the Natchez Home Builders Association and the HBA of Mississippi and maintains a lifetime seat on the National Home Builders Association. Stahlman is a cofounder of UMB and was a cofounder of the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race. He is a past chairman of the Natchez Economic Development Authority and a past director of Allied Building Stores in Monroe, La. Stahlman currently serves as a managing member of the Riverview RV Park & Resort located on the Vidalia riverfront.
Sammy P. Porter has been appointed as a member of the board for United Mississippi Bank. Porter was named president of the bank in 1997 and continues to serve in that position.
While at UMB Porter also served as director of marketing.
Porter is a graduate of Savings and Loan School of the South, the Southwest Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University and the graduate school of bank marketing at the University of Colorado. He is a member of the Natchez Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
He is a past director for the board of Natchez Regional Medical Center, past director of the Southern Chapter of Bank Marketing Association and past chairman of the Great Mississippi River Balloon Race.
Denton B. Biglane has been appointed as a member of the board for United Mississippi Bank. He attended Louisiana State University and received certifications from Internal Security Analysis and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
Biglane served as an AVP in operations at United Mississippi Bank from 1993-2007. He presently is the manager of Scotland Plantation, Inc. He also serves at the secretary and director of Biglane Operating Company, Silver Land, Inc., the Great Escape Balloon Company and the D.A. Biglane Foundation.
Sarah Darlene Partridge Moon has been promoted to assistant vice president/loan administration. Moon worked for Southwest Finance, an affiliate of UMB from 1989 to 1997. She joined UMB in 1997 in the loan administration department and has worked in this area since that time.
Moon is a graduate of South Natchez High School and attended Copiah Lincoln Community College. She has completed numerous AIB classes, Harland Loan Seminar Courses and continues to have course training in Harland Laser Pro Lending and Banking.
She has been active in the Miss-Lou Relay for Life and the American Heart Association.
