Four injured in two-car wreck in Morgantown

NATCHEZ — One woman was airlifted by helicopter at Morgantown Elementary School and three others transported by ambulance to Natchez Regional Medical Center following a two-vehicle wreck Sunday evening.

Adams County sheriff’s deputies and one fire truck responded to the accident, which occurred on Booker Road near the intersection of Morgantown Road, just before 6 p.m. Deputy Joseph West said the injuries of three of ths four people involved were minor.

The Natchez Fire Department extracted one woman from a blue Ford Focus sedan using the Jaws of Life. West said an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter landed at the nearby school campus to transport her to University Medical Center in Jackson.

Also in the sedan, were two other passengers, who ambulances transported to NRMC with minor injuries, West said.

The driver of a white pickup truck also involved in the accident was also transported to NRMC.

West said no citations were written, and deputies could not determine what caused the accident based on the position of the cars.
