At the NASD, the top 10 central office administrators earn between $54,651 and $117,000, with an average salary of $84,000.
Those salaries represent the interim superintendent, assistant superintendent, director of curriculum and instruction, director of federal programs, athletic director, business manager, coordinator of technology, director of special services, food and service specialist and school improvement coordinator.
Principals and assistant principals at all six regular schools, Central Alternative School and the Fallin Career Technology Center make between $53,000 and $84,000, with an average salary of $67,000.
In the Concordia Parish School District, the district pays the top 10 central office administrators a total of approximately $758,000. Those salaries range from $64,000 to $95,000, with the average at $75,840.
At the Madison County School District, principals can earn between $70,000 and $101,000. MCSD has no scale for department directors, superintendents or assistant superintendents.
In the McComb School District, top administrative positions, including central office and school administrators, can earn between $40,000 and $136,000
In the Jackson Public Schools, district and school administrators can earn be-tween $52,000 and $136,000.
In Lamar County, district administrators can earn from $47,000 to $110,000. All principals in and assistant principals in Lamar County make between $70,000 and $83,000.
In the Clinton Public School District, top administrators make salaries ranging from $60,000 to $144,386, for the superintendent.
Barnett said the board members might work to re-solve some salary schedule issues that allow employees to earn extra pay for an extra degree in a field that doesn’t relate to their jobs.
Johnson said many administrators, including some top central office positions and all principals, are on call 24-7 in addition their full-time jobs.
