Regarding Kevin Cooper’s column, “What will it take to get your vote?”, what caught my attention was the statement “Furlow may be the smartest guy in the race.”

That is certainly what we need for our leader, as well as all the other wonderful qualities so aptly described by Marie Gasquet in her letter in The Democrat last Wednesday morning.

I believe strongly in the future of Natchez — with Bill Furlow as our next mayor.
