Models take to the runway at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Natchez High School auditorium in an inspired hat and fashion show that celebrates the streets of Natchez.

The show “A Stroll through the Streets of Natchez” will have a mix of fantasy and bold statements, as well as practicality.

It is focused around Main Street, Franklin Street, Pine Street and Broadway. One of the scenes will be a revisit to the 1970s, a nod to glitz and glamour.

The show, which started in 1998 as an annual fundraiser for the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Southwest Chapter, has become one of the most popular fashion shows of its kind in the area.

NCBW is a volunteer women’s organization that works to provide programs and services that make a difference in the black community through health, education and economic development. If there is a common theme among the members, it is a sense of commitment and service to the community.

An exciting feature of this year’s show is a refreshingly playful and surprising dance presentation by members of the organization under the direction of Angela James.

Not only does the show provide volunteer models a great opportunity to strut their stuff, but it gives them a chance to lend their time and talent to a worthy cause.

The fashion show promises to be a unique and exciting event, so wear your finest hat, put on your Sunday best and join us in raising money for our annual scholarship fund.

Tickets for the show are available for $20 and can be purchased from any member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Southwest Chapter.

Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

There will be door prizes and light refreshments.

See you at the show.
