Come to Parent University No. 2

Published 12:30 am Sunday, March 18, 2012

If you attended Parent University No. 1 last semester, I am sure you remember we had a blast!

From the prize auction and classroom activities to the supper and entertainment, parental engagement was through the roof.

Parent University is a district-wide call for all parents of public and non-public schools to attend training at one location. The Natchez-Adams School District will have Parent University No. 2 at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Natchez High School auditorium. It is very important for parents to attend this training and receive strategies and suggestions on how to assist your children at home.

The theme for Parent University No. 2 is “Teaming for Student Achievement Part 2.” The district asks all parents to please get involved in their children’s education by learning fun, new ways to help children succeed in the classroom. This training will offer information about the Common Core State Standards, the Mississippi Curriculum Test Second Edition and the Subject Area Testing Program. There will be two 35-minute breakout sessions in the following areas: reading, language arts, math, English, biology, U.S. history and algebra.

The sessions will be presented by district teachers. Featured teacher presentations will include the following:
