United Way to thank all those who give

United Way of the Greater Miss-Lou will host our second annual contributors award luncheon on March 8 at the Vidalia Convention Center.
We would like to acknowledge Mr. H.L. Irvin Jr. and his staff at the Vidalia Convention Center for donating the space free of charge. This event is United Way’s opportunity to say thank you to our community partners, donors, board members and volunteers. This would not be possible without such generosity.
The success of the annual community investment pledge drive is contingent upon the support of our community, our goal as an agency is to ensure each person who gives of themselves for our cause feels appreciated.
For 58 years United Way of the Greater Miss-Lou has been the region’s human service leader. We support programs and initiatives in the Miss-Lou. United Way is dedicated to helping individuals and families meet emergency needs, stabilize their lives, and ultimately lift them up and out of circumstances that make them vulnerable; drawing upon local knowledge, data and expertise to understand the community’s needs, identify where gaps exist and support what works in addressing them and serving as a powerful voice and advocate on critical health and human issues. We encourage all people in the Miss-Lou to give, advocate or volunteer. United Way wants to show the true power to LIVE UNITED.
The measure of United Way is not in the fundraising campaign, but in the ways we are impacting the community, connecting people across the region, and improving the foundations of our communities.
United Way does the critical but largely invisible work required to reach community goals, we recruit people to the cause, get commitments for action, and pull together the expertise and recourses that create long lasting change.
Without the support of businesses and individuals throughout the community the work of United Way would not be possible. During this event we will celebrate the spirit of giving and volunteerism of this community and give thanks to everyone who works so diligently to make a difference.
