VIDALIA — The Concordia Parish Police Jury approved several payments and resolutions during a short meeting Monday night.
Police Jury President Melvin Ferrington said he and the board are excited for their next meeting later this month.
“We’re going to have the U.S. Corps of Engineers, FEMA and the Levee Board here to discuss the levee system and some things like that,” Ferrington said. “It should be a good meeting.”
In other news from Monday’s police jury meeting:
The jury approved a resolution approving the sale of $400,000 in certificates of indebtedness for the parish wide hospital service district.
Ferrington said the approval is for the district to apply for a loan for emergency funds.
“That’s something we do every year, and it’s just in case they need to borrow some funds,” Ferrington said.
He said that money does not come from the parish or the police jury, but will come from whatever loan company the district decides to use.
The jury approved a $6,400 payment of police jury association membership dues.
Ferrington said the dues are another annual matter they approve each year and is something every parish is Louisiana does.
The Police Jury will meet again at 6 p.m on Feb. 27.
