A celebration of love in its many forms awaits you as the Natchez Festival of Music invites you to our annual Valentine Gala on from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Mount Repose.
For the fourth year, the festival will provide a spectacular Valentine Gala with outstanding music by David Shenton on piano and violin, and his wife, Erin Shields, as they sing and play love songs of many varieties.
They are two of the most talented and beloved of festival artists who have performed in Natchez in the past and are enjoying tremendously successful careers in New York City. The festival is very fortunate to have them return to Natchez to help celebrate “Love Is A Many-Splendored Thing.”
Additional excitement will involve a live auction, including items such as a week in a villa in Tuscany, Italy; a great condo on the beach; a cochon de lait at your selected location; stays in several antebellum B&B establishments; meals in restaurants; paintings and decorative items; and much more.
Refreshments will consist of a wide variety of gourmet delicacies and hors-d’oeuvres, including very special sweets. A drink of your choice is included in your ticket.
To continue the Valentine celebration, David Shenton and Erin Shields will perform a jazz concert at a Champagne luncheon at BriarVue at the Briars at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The luncheon features a fabulous meal served in BriarVue overlooking the Mississippi River while enjoying the music of David and Erin.
Tickets may be obtained by calling 601-446-8280, at 606 State St., by going online to the Festival website at www.natchezfestivalofmusic.com, where all major credit cards are accepted through PayPay, at the Natchez Pilgrimage Tours booth at the Visitor Center or at www.natchezpilgrimagetours.com.
