Natchez — Local historian Harold Clark Burkett has had his topic “Mississippi Territorial, Natchez, Washington and Jefferson College Histories” accepted by the Mississippi Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.

As member of MHCSP, Burkett is awarded an honorarium by them for his presentations to any group or organization. Burkett was the historian at Historic Jefferson College, where he worked for 26 years. He is presently the governor of the Natchez Moose Lodge and secretary of the Natchez Historical Society.
