Celebrate with Holy Family this week

You all know when someone stands in front of you, you expect a big elaborate, eloquent speech. You want the speaker to be entertaining and keep your interest, well I’m not here to boast and brag about how Catholic schools all across America educate students or instill values and guide the students. I’m not going to brag about how our students leave Holy Family Early Learning Center with the abilities to comprehend and excel on their grade level or even beyond their counterparts.

I’m not going to even tell you how truly appreciative we are of our teachers, staff, volunteers and community for their contributions to our school and students.

I didn’t have to say all of these things to boast or brag, but because it is of value and it has truth to it.

This week, we are celebrating Catholic Schools’ Week, and our theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service.”

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to serving the parents, community and students of Holy Family Early Learning Center. I would like to say that planning and preparation makes perfect performance. We, the faculty and staff, have been planning and preparing to make our school a continuous success.

We have celebrated 100 days of school, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and now it is time for a new celebration — Catholic Schools’ Week.

With this in mind, we know that in order to make a smooth transition into the next academic year, 2012-2013, we want to prepare for our incoming students along with our returning students.

Our product is education, and we want you to buy and invest in your children’s futures.

Registration will begin this week, and the fee is $75. After this week, the cost will increase.

We are trying to recruit, reclaim and retain our students.

We invite you to come and share with us this week. Our schedule for this year’s Catholic Schools’ Week is as follows:

• Monday — Student appreciation day

• Tuesday — Parents/grandparents appreciation day

• Wednesday — Teachers appreciation day

• Thursday — Alumni/friends/pastor day

• Friday — Community service day

We look forward to seeing you on at least one of those days, because at Holy Family Early Learning Center, we abide by our slogan, “Live so we can love so we can learn.”

Ira S. Young is the director at Holy Family Early Learning Center.
