JONESVILLE, La. — Rodeo lovers will have the opportunity to whet their appetite with a finger-food sized event Feb. 3 and 4 at the C-Bar Ranch Arena in Jonesville, La.
The arena will be filled with pint-sized cowboys and miniature bulls next weekend when it hosts the Brand Shivers Invitational. The event is organized by Miniature Bull Riders and Leal’s Mini Bulls.
The show features bull riders ages 5-14 riding bulls that range from 35 to 45 inches tall, said Cirildo Leal who organized the Miniature Bull Riders event.
“These are miniature bulls just like the children, but they look like real bulls,” Leal said.
The riders are separated into three age groups for the event: Peewee bulls are ages 5-7, juniors are ages 8-11 and seniors are ages 12-14, Leal said.
“We do all the bells and whistles,” he said. “We do it as big as we can do them.”
Leal said the event would feature a professional announcer, a professional pyrotechnics coordinator and a professional rodeo clown.
The event will also feature professional bull riders, like Jonesville-native and two-time PBR champion Chris Shivers, who will be there to assist the young riders.
The action will start at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $10 and children 5 and under get in free.
The entry fee for each participant is $100 and riders must check in from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday before the show.
