NATCHEZ — A Natchez man was charged with armed robbery Monday in connection with the Dec. 16 robbery of a man outside Ebony Barber & Beauty Shop on St. Catherine Street.

Joseph M. Smith, 24, 205 Oakland Drive, allegedly called a man who was inside the hair shop outside, where a second suspect with a handgun assaulted and robbed the man.

Natchez Police Department investigator Juan McDonald said the investigation is ongoing, and no bond has been set for Smith.
