VIDALIA — The sentencing for Reginald Butler, the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene after a 2010 shooting in Ferriday that killed Reginald “Chucky” Green, has been moved to Jan. 18.

Butler was expected to be sentenced to accessory after the fact to second-degree murder Wednesday.

The sentencing was pushed back when public defender Paul Lemke called the District Attorney’s Office and said he would not be able to make it to court.

Butler was originally charged with second-degree murder, but pleaded guilty May 31 to a lesser charge of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder.

Reginald Butler’s case was separated from Daniel Durans Butler, his brother, and Bryant Lakeith Bethley’s case because Reginald was the driver of the vehicle that fled the scene after the incident and was not involved in the shooting.

In October, Bethley was found guilty of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder. All charges except obstruction of justice were dropped against former co-defendant Daniel Butler.

Butler entered a plea to the obstruction of justice charge.
