Tipsy Taxi to roll in Concordia Parish tonight

VIDALIA — Concordia Parish residents planning on unwinding this New Year’s Eve don’t have to get behind the wheel to get where they’re going Saturday night — or Sunday morning.
The “Tipsy Taxi” is a service offered by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office for those who have been drinking and don’t have a designated driver.
“We’d much rather take you home than have to notify your family following a crash,” Sheriff Randy Maxwell said in a press release.
Maxwell said his office will continue increased highway patrols, especially targeting impaired drivers and speeders, as well as seat belt violations for adults and children.
“We’re stepping up patrols in order to cut down especially on DWI offenses,” Maxwell said. “I know that everyone wants to have a good time, but having a good time does not mean jeopardizing others’ safety on the roads.”
To call the “Tipsy Taxi” call 318-336-5231, 318-757-3162 or 318-386-2200.
