VIDALIA — A Vidalia father and stepson are wanted on chargers of attempted first-degree murder in connection to a Monday morning fight that sent another Vidalia man to a Jackson hospital in critical condition.
Kenneth Brad Fife, 32, 119 Carolyn Circle, was originally charged with second–degree battery following the fight in the yard of his residence and his stepson, Michael H. Hill, 19, same address, was initially charged with simple battery.
Both were released on bond of the initial charges on Monday — Fife on a $15,000 bond and Hill on a $1,250 bond.
Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation and questioned witnesses Monday and Tuesday before initiating warrants on the attempted murder charges.
The victim, Jeremy Naff, 35, 1615 Camellia St., was allegedly beaten and kicked repeatedly in the head and face.
Naff remained in the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s intensive care unit Tuesday evening, but was in stable condition.
According to witnesses, the fight may have stemmed from an argument at an area bar earlier on Christmas night. Dispatch received the call of the fight at approximately 2:58 a.m. Monday.
