Franklin County native Col. Wentworth retires

REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. — Army Col. Forrest C. Wentworth has retired from the U.S. Army.
Wentworth is the director of central command regional operations assigned to the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. The colonel has served in the military for 30 years.
Upon his retirement, Wentworth was awarded the Legion of Merit for his exceptionally meritorious service throughout his career.
He is the son of Harold and Maye Wentworth of Meadville.
Wentworth graduated in 1977 from Franklin County High School, Meadville, and received an associate degree in 1979 from Copiah-Lincoln Junior College, Wesson. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in 1981 from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, and a master’s degree from Troy State University, Montgomery.
