LORMAN — The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges announced that Alcorn State University received reaffirmation of accreditation demonstrating compliance with SACS core requirements.
The reaffirmation process occurs every 10 years and involves an in-depth internal evaluation and report of all of the university’s programs and operations. Reaffirmation is not only important to Alcorn with regard to its ability to offer federal financial aid, but it also indicates that its programs meet or exceed national standards.
“Alcorn has been through an intensive self-review process assessing our institutional effectiveness and examining its educational missions, goals and expected outcomes and making performance improvements as needed,” Executive Vice President and Provost Samuel L. White said.
