Robbery suspect sought

vIDALIA — As of Friday night, Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police were searching for a suspect wanted in Avoyelles Parish for theft of large amount of cash from a business.

Clinton D. Ashlock, 46, attempted to run over deputies when they approached him Friday afternoon, according to Sheriff Randy Maxwell.

From there, Ashlock fled traveling through Pointe Coupee Parish and into Concordia Parish.

Ashlock crashed his vehicle and fled into the woods in southern Concordia.

“We’re going to catch him,” Maxwell said Friday night. “If we don’t catch him tonight, he’ll turn himself in (Saturday), at least if he’s smart that’s what he’ll do.”

Some of the missing money was recovered by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and was returned to the Avoyelles Sheriff’s Office.

Ashlock is described as a white male, 5-foot-11 inches tall, 130 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
