Put your own thankfulness in action

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

Be thankful unto him and bless his name. That comes from Psalms 100:4.

Oh how good it is to bless his name and to be thankful unto him for all he has done for us. Every day of our lives we are supposed to be thankful unto the Lord.

As I was riding to the store to do my shopping for Thanksgiving I was thinking about the less fortunate that might not have anything to eat. Fix an extra plate for someone that you know that doesn’t have anyone bringing food.

Every day of our lives we are supposed to reach out a helping hand to help someone along the way.

You know in the book of Matthew, the 25th chapter, verse 35 it says, “For I was hungry and you gave me meat; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you took me in.”

Jesus is letting us know that when we help someone in need we are doing it unto him. So as we rise and give thanks, let’s count our blessings and continue to be thankful.

As we put all the delicious food on the table and pull out the chair and sit down, let’s bless our food this way. “Lord Jesus we thank you for this food. We thank you for our family. We thank you most of all for your son Jesus Christ. We thank you for making a way for us out of nowhere. We thank you for a portion of health and strength.”

In Jesus we live and move and have our being.

Thank you Lord for making it possible for us to fix all the goodies, the turkey, dressing, sweet potato pies, potato salad, cakes, cranberry sauce, green peas, beans, gravy, ham, rolls and more.

Happy Thanksgiving. To God be the glory.
